Inner School Garden - North Lincolnshire.
This garden design was for a sensual garden that's landlocked between two classrooms in a special needs school.
I have designed a double water feature in the raised planters, shade sails for light and dark, cool in the summer and dry when it rains. Large stones to chalk on, fragrant planting, plants that can be touched and grasses that rustle in the wind. The floor was a mixture of painted concrete, timber and rubber matting so the different mediums would give different effects for all the children in the school.
Artificial grass cubes to sit on, with colour and lighting for an extra sensual experience. The area can be accessed from three different doors and classrooms so the complex needs children can experience lots of different feelings in the area.
